My Boyfriend Is Not Happy About My Modeling!

Domestic and relationship issues and situations must be handled before the photoshoot preferably before a model begins to model. The photographer has many details to oversee and having a jealous boyfriend, fiance or husb can be a hassel. Some photographers do not even shoot with a significant other present no matter how "uninvolved" they promise to be during the shoot.

A friend or a girlfriend is always OK but the possible added relationship drama and distraction is unnecessary during the shoot. Your Way Is Not My Way!

Unless it is an uncomfortable, inappropriate situation the directions from the photographer (the boss of the photoshoot) should be followed as much as possible. Of course, the exception is when the model is paying for a shoot & is setting the specifications for what she wants.

Creative input from the model is permitted, often encouraged and welcomed. When the creative ideas and directions of the photographer are defied and refused, the shoot seldom result in useful, quality images.

Once the model-photographer trust is broken it is rarely restored. When mistrust occurs it is clearly visible in the eyes of the model and on the photos. There can be many reasons for this type of mistrust: inappropriate language, posing or clothing suggestions or any kind of inappropriate behavior on the photographer's part.

Other reasons could be lack of self confidence, lack of adventurous spirit, lack of open mind, or lack of creativity on the model's part.

Also lack of thorough research of the photographer by the model can result in unexpected situations. These "princesses" are often not able to trust anyone in general and the photographer just happens to be "today's target".
Possible ways to discover and avoid a head strong model situation is to communicate as clearly and as detailed as possible before the photo shoot regarding what is expected from the model.
